Assignment 3A - Your Entrepreneurship Story

Image
I think it’s rather ironic that the prompt mentioned leading a project in middle school because that’s exactly what my entrepreneurship experience was. When I was an 8 th grader I was the National Junior Honor Society president. I wanted to start a food drive to benefit our local food pantry, our school was not really doing anything to give back to our community. I learned about the Souper Bowl of Caring organization and I wanted to replicate it at my school. So, along with my fellow Honor Society members I labeled a number of boxes with the 2 teams competing that year, the Ravens and the 49ers and distributed them to each class room. To incentivize the students, I got permission from administration to give the grade that donated the most cans a pizza party. We received a lot of donations and the 3 rd graders won. It was a great way for us as a school to give back to our community. I enrolled in ENT 3003 for a number of reasons. The simplest was that I had a desire to complete an...

Assignment 4A - Forming an Opportunity Belief

1: I believe that an opportunity exists to build cell towers along I75. There are parts of I75 that have very weak cell reception. 2: People have a need for cell phone reception along I75. This can be fixed by building cell towers in weak reception areas. Anyone who has ever driven down I75, listening to music, or some other activity that requires cellular reception understands the significant amount of areas with little to no cellular reception. This need is not new and yet it has still not been fixed. Since cell phones were first created, areas far away from cities have struggled with quality cellular reception. In order to meet this need for cellular reception, people must continue driving until they reach an area that receives better cellular reception. 3: The prototypical customer would be anyone with a cell phone who drives, or has ridden in a car that drives along I75. 4: This person notices that about an hour and 20 minutes into their 3 hour journey from Clearwa...

Assignment 2A - Bug List

Bug #1 - Baja Blast is only sold in cans/bottles during the summer months. I wish that I could purchase it year round in a form that would allow me to consume it whenever I wanted at home. Why It exists - Taco Bell and Mountain Dew protect the product’s “exclusive” nature by only selling it during the summer and at Taco Bell. This creates lots of media presence and hype surrounding the product when it finally comes back into stores. Bug #2 – Whenever I try to enter a room, often a classroom full of people, the door hinge squeaks loudly. Why it exists – This problem exists because oiling door hinges is relatively low on the priority list for maintenance personnel. Bug #3 – Sometimes it takes me hours to finally fall asleep Why it exists – This bug exists because I often transition from doing something to trying to sleep with no time in between for my body and mind to calm down. Bug #4 – It bugs me that some days I will wake up and sneeze all morning and other da...
